About Me

Who I Am!

Well thank you for stopping by! I’m Gavin Bauman, and I’m a Technical Evangelist for¬†Microsoft in the Boston area. I graduated from Xavier University of Lousiana with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in May of 2014. As a Technical Evangelist, my duties are to grow the technical community here in Boston as well as share my excitement for Microsoft’s technology! I’ve got a deep passion for all things tech, and I look forward to sharing everything I learn.

What I’m Doing!

As a Technical Evangelist, I’ll be driving the development of Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 apps. I’m fresh out of college myself, so I aim to aid the beginner developers on their journey to making full fledged apps. I’d like for you all to follow my blog as I’ll be updating it through every step of my journey here at Microsoft.

I’ve Done Some Stuff Too, Ya Know!

The other Evangelists here are awesome people. Since I’m the new guy, I’ve no choice but to fluff my feathers a bit!

I have had the pleasure of teaching programming concepts to high school students using the Alice 3D modeling software as well as NXT robots. It was loads of fun!

I was a proud Student Brand Manager for ASUS in college. I raised awareness for the ASUS brand, showed fellow students how ASUS makes their lives easier and cooler, and I got to be one of the first on my campus with Windows 8!

Gavin I was a PAX East to see your presentation about crafting controllers. I thought it was a great topic. My phone didn’t take great pic of the slides. Can you list the kits you were showcasing. I would like to make my own controller. Thanks

Hey there Henry! Would love to provide the slides, but as they’re not all my own content, I’d rather share them individually. Reach out to me @ Gavin.Bauman@microsoft.com please!
